Fire and violence in the center of Paris: protesters set cars on fire in protest of the attack on the Kurdish community - voila! news

Hundreds of Kurdish demonstrators protested violently in the center of Paris, after the attack in which 3 members of their community were murdered in the French capital. The police on the spot responded with tear gas, and after about two hours managed to disperse the crowd. According to the reports, the suspect in the shooting, who had previously been accused of attempted murder, admitted to his investigators: "I am a racist"


Riots and clashes continue in Paris, after the deadly attack in the center of the city, in which three members of the Kurdish community were murdered.

Hundreds of Kurdish protesters overturned and set fire to vehicles today (Saturday), and even threw projectiles at the police, who responded with tear gas.

The clashes lasted about two hours.

The attack took place near the Kurdish cultural center, in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital, on the tenth day of the unsolved murder of three activists from the Kurdish community.

The police arrested a 69-year-old man on suspicion of the attack.

The suspect was recently released from custody, after being suspected of an attack on a migrant camp in Paris about a year ago.

The investigators stated that the suspect had a racist motive - according to reports, the suspect admitted to his investigators, "I am a racist."

The suspect was previously accused of attempted murder, once in 2016 and again in December of last year, when he tried to attack immigrants with a sword in a camp in the Bersi neighborhood of the city.

Following the last case he was arrested, but was finally released.

In the coming days, the authorities will demand an explanation as to why he was released despite his criminal record.
