Goldknopf speaks (Walla system!)
An escalating conflict between the Torah Flag and Agudat Israel, the lists that make up the Torah Judaism faction, due to the clause in the coalition agreement that states that the designated Minister of Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf will serve as a member of the political-security cabinet.
The Torah Flag is outraged at the clause that was included in the agreement between Agudat Israel and the Likud, and published a statement this evening (Saturday) stating that they are opposed to "accepting the position of a minister who bears responsibility for all government actions, including decisions that are against the Halacha, even if he votes against it, due to the collective responsibility. All the more so since he is a member of the political-security cabinet that the decisions there are made after the ministers know about all the actions that were taken before and especially when it comes to human lives."
On Thursday, Flag of the Torah sent a scathing letter to Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu, demanding that the coalition negotiations be reopened. The party is outraged that the Likud signed a separate agreement with Agudat Israel last night, and especially the appointment of Goldknopf as a member of the political-security cabinet.
