After several months of vacancy, two Lebenshilfe dormitories in Bad Tölz and Geretsried will have new directors at the turn of the year.

They are two well-known faces from the work with the handicapped.

Bad Tölz/Geretsried – The corona pandemic, sick leave, staff shortages and staff turnover have hit inpatient care facilities even harder than most other sectors.

The labor market has been swept empty, but there must be no interruption in looking after the people entrusted to us.

Two dormitories run by Lebenshilfe – one in Bad Tölz and one in Geretsried – were hit twice as hard because they had been standing there without a line for months.

Carolin König and Stefanie Hefele new managers for Lebenshilfe dormitories

But this dry spell has now come to an end: at the beginning of the year, two new managers will start there.

And there are two well-known faces within the Lebenshilfe organization: Carolin König and Stefanie Hefele previously worked as managers at the Oberland workshops.

Both have regional roots and once studied social education in Benediktbeuern.

Staff shortages presented the facilities with problems

The staff shortages at the Lebenshilfe dormitories have been presenting the facilities with problems that can hardly be solved for some time (we reported): The duty rosters had to be constantly improvised.

Frequently necessary overtime brought the staff to the brink of resilience.

And as far as the associated management tasks were concerned, managing director Franz Gulder and personnel officer Benno Brehm had to step in personally again and again.

For a long time, Gulder and Brehm had tapped into all the usual recruiting tools and channels in vain.

The board members around Martin Lechner, who is well networked in the socio-pedagogical area, also used their contacts for this purpose.

The two new directors are very familiar with the work with the disabled

The fact that two old acquaintances and specialists who are very familiar with the work with the disabled have been recruited to manage the Tölz Prinzregent-Luitpold residential home and the Geretsrieder facility at the Wunschelwald caused everyone involved to look forward to it.

Carolin König and Stefanie Hefele had turned their backs on the Oberland workshops after a fundamental organizational and structural reform at the non-profit company (we reported).

After four years in Geretsried, she switched to Gaißach in 2006.

Stefanie Hefele is looking forward to “an exciting challenge”

Stefanie Hefele is 48 years old and lives in Ried (municipality of Kochel am See).

After working for many years in a Munich curative education day care center, she came to the Oberland workshops in 2016 and initially worked in the rehabilitation service of the Gaißach company.

As early as 2018, she took on a managerial role with the management of the Miesbach branch and switched to the management of Polling in 2021.

She is looking forward to moving to Lebenshilfe GmbH and sees it as "an exciting challenge: working with severely disabled people is new to me, but very similar to my previous job".
