Every year the Christmas Burger comes back.

Everyone can understand that after so many cookies, gingerbread and other Christmas delicacies, you are no longer in the mood for something sweet.

That's why we want to give you a present this year with this hearty Christmas burger.

This variant is so noble and delicious that it puts the old Christmas goose in the shade here.

And because counting calories is no longer important, give yourself a present and cook this burger on Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas.

That's how it's done:

These ingredients are on your wish list for 2 burgers:

  • Red Cabbage Salad:

  • 100 g red cabbage, cut into thin strips

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 50 ml orange juice

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp sugar

  • Burger sauce:

  • 50 grams of mayonnaise

  • 40 g cranberries (from glass)

  • Christmas burgers:

  • 2 duck breasts, ready to cook

  • 0.25 tsp salt

  • 0.25 tsp pepper

  • 2 brioche burger buns

  • 100 g Camembert, cut into strips

  • 20 g lamb's lettuce

Preparation according to the Christmas roastery:

  • For the red cabbage salad:

mix the red cabbage with honey, orange juice, olive oil, salt and sugar and set aside.

  • For the burger sauce:

mix the mayonnaise with the cranberries.

  • For the Christmas burger:

Using a sharp knife, lightly score the duck breast into diamonds and do not cut into the meat.

Season the fat side with salt and pepper and then fry in a hot pan without oil, fat side down on speed 8 of 10.

While the fat is melting, season the meat side with salt and pepper.

Once the fat has formed a golden crust, turn the breast over and fry the other side for about 2 minutes.

Remove the breast from the pan and set aside to rest.

  • Lightly toast the brioche buns in the hot pan with the duck fat until golden.

  • Cut the duck breast into thin slices against the grain and place one breast on each bottom part of the bun.

  • Place the camembert on the meat, gratinate the two lower parts for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 °C (top/bottom heat) until small golden bubbles form on the cheese.

  • Meanwhile, the tops can already be spread with the cranberry mayo.

  • Place the red cabbage and lamb's lettuce on the lower part with the cheese and then cover.

  • Et voilà!

    Good Appetite.

  • My recommendation:

Crispy potato wedges with the same cranberry mayonnaise go perfectly with the Christmas burger.

  • This Christmas Burger recipe has everything you need for Christmas.
