Through risk assessment earlier, Customs selected an assembled container arriving from Canada. Through X-ray inspection, it was found that a batch of goods with ceilings and mezzanines had been hollowed out.

It was later discovered that there were 348 kilograms of vacuum-packed marijuana flowers in possession, with a market value of 60 million yuan.

The Customs Narcotics Investigation Division immediately took over the case and found that the delivery address was false, and the drug dealer deliberately did not pick up the goods to reduce the risk of arrest.

After waiting for two weeks, the Customs finally carried out a monitoring and delivery operation on the eve of Christmas Eve, arrested two unemployed men, and successfully intercepted a batch of drugs that were going to enter the market on Christmas and New Year.

Sea Area Division Acting Senior Inspector Su Jiaen said that among the 6 batches of goods, one batch was reported as ceiling materials, and the delivery address of the goods was a seafood shop.

The nature of the goods does not match the business, and Canada is a country where marijuana has been legalized, which aroused customs suspicion, so the goods were detained for further inspection.

On December 9, Customs officers inspected the images through X-rays at the Kwai Chung Customs Building and inspected the batch of 40 boxes of goods and found that the images were suspicious.

The customs officer immediately opened the cargo and uncovered the carton, and found that the surface was covered with two layers of plastic material as a cover, while the interlayer of the cargo was hollowed out. Each box contained 15 packs of vacuum suspicious herbs. After a rapid drug test, the results of the cargo showed that Tested positive for marijuana.

After counting, the customs seized a total of 348 kilograms of marijuana flowers with a market value of 60 million yuan.

Customs pointed out that criminals hid drugs in hollowed-out goods, mixed them into consolidated containers, and then scattered them in different locations in the containers in an attempt to deceive the world and increase the difficulty of customs law enforcement and investigation.

The Customs Narcotics Investigation Division immediately took over the case and found that the two delivery addresses of the goods were not true, and were falsely reported and embezzled by criminals.

The customs released the goods one by one, hoping to lure the snake out of the hole and arrest the real recipient.

However, the drug dealers put the drugs in the logistics storage warehouse for two weeks and do not pick up the goods for a long time to reduce the risk of arrest.

Finally, on December 23, the drug dealers were lucky, thinking that the goods had really been released, and arranged for the delivery of the goods.

Customs immediately carried out monitoring delivery operations and arrested two unemployed local men (aged between 32 and 34) in San Po Kong, one of whom was the recipient.

Liang Guowei, senior investigation officer of the Customs Narcotics Investigation Division, said that the drug traffickers had three delivery addresses and used devious methods to avoid detection. Among them, they even rented an industrial building on the same floor as the false address as a drug storage warehouse.

Customs believes that it has successfully intercepted a batch of drugs that are going to enter the market during Christmas and New Year.

Customs appeals that if company operators suspect that the address has been stolen to receive shipments, for example, if they receive a message from a shipping or logistics company, they can check with the customs if they have doubts.
