A burglary occurred this morning (24th) at Star City Shopping Center on Shantung Street, Mong Kok.
At 7:43 in the morning, a store specializing in Leica camera equipment was broken into by two thieves. They smashed the glass of the store door, ransacked it wantonly, and triggered the alarm of the store's anti-theft system.
The 54-year-old man in charge surnamed Li immediately reported to the police after discovering it, and the store was in a mess.
After counting, the thieves took away a total of 28 camera lenses and two cameras, worth about 1.2 million yuan.
The police went to the scene to investigate and checked the closed-circuit TV. They found that the two thieves were both men. They were wearing black clothes and black pants when they committed the crime. They believed that they sneaked into the mall through the back door before it opened.
The case is temporarily listed as a "burglary" case, and no one has been arrested yet. The fourth team of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Mong Kok Police District is following up the investigation.
