Family carers have been in high demand in recent years

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – The Friends of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen family care organization were able to come up with a slight plus in the cash register at the most recent general meeting.

As treasurer Christine Bock reported, the income for 2021 - mainly from donations - increased by a good 1000 euros compared to the previous year.

No figures are available for the current year.

Family carers: the number of assignments increased again

Despite the Corona crisis, the five trained family carers have been in great demand in recent years, as the report by operations manager Anne Kurzder from Bad Heilbrunn shows.

While restraint was still noticeable in 2020, the number of assignments increased again.

Kurzer said: "There was a lot of uncertainty about a possible risk of infection at first, but when the affected families reached their limits, we were asked more again."

The youth welfare office also mediated numerous assignments in the district.

In total, the trained nurses were in 73 families in 2021 and worked 6490 hours.

Almost 5000 were financed by the health insurance companies, 1500 hours were worked on behalf of the youth welfare office and the coordinating child protection centers (KoKi).

The KoKi service is based in the Tölz district office and organizes consultation hours in the district, where questions from young parents are answered.

There were a total of 17 assignments in Bad Tölz, six in Bad Heilbrunn and Lenggries, the rest were in other communities and inquiries from neighboring districts.

In Weilheim-Schongau and Miesbach, for example, no family care is offered.

High-risk pregnancies, cancer therapies and mental illnesses were the reasons for the assignment

The reasons for the deployment were, as Kurzeder explained, high-risk pregnancies, cancer therapies and mental illnesses.

Overall, the trend towards many smaller assignments continued in the previous year.

The carers sometimes look after several families per day.

According to Kurzder, this entails problems with the organization and many trips.

20,000 euros could be transferred to the sponsoring association

Since the health insurance companies have not paid for all hours of work for years, this "Förderverein des Familienpflegewerks Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen eV" was founded in 2015 as part of a change in the statutes.

He has made it his mission to raise the necessary funds.

Thanks to donations from the district municipalities, the parishes, the savings bank, the Wittig'schen Foundation and private individuals, a total of 20,000 euros could be transferred to the sponsoring association - the family care organization of the Bavarian regional association of the Catholic German Women's Association in Munich.

Previous detention confirmed

At the meeting in the parish home, the members confirmed the previous local board of directors in office.

The chairman is the Tölz town pastor Peter Demmelmair, his deputy Anne Kurzer, Christine Bock takes care of the cash register, Martha Holzmann remains secretary.
