Another Chinese car brand begins its activities in Israel.
The name of the brand is Way and it is part of the huge Greatwell group that owns several other car brands, one of which is Ora, which is also supposed to start operating in Israel soon.
Unlike Ora, which is a relatively popular electric vehicle brand, Way is a luxury brand that, as of now, has not yet introduced electric vehicles (these will come in the future), and is currently focusing on crossover vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive (PHEV).

The first Wei model to arrive in Israel (and we have already driven it at the global launch) is called Coffee 01. It is a full-sized crossover, which with a length of 487 cm and a wheelbase of 291 cm is close in size to cars like the BMW X5, but despite this Does not offer a third row of seats.

The drive unit combines a 2.0-liter turbo engine that delivers 201 hp and a pair of electric motors that create an impressive combined power of 476 hp and 86.4 kgm, which makes it possible to accelerate the heavy car that weighs more than two tons to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.
The high weight of the car is, among other things, due to the use of a large battery with a capacity of 36.7 kilowatts/hour - 2 times what is customary in plug-in hybrid cars.
The large battery allows for an impressive electric range of 146 km according to the WLTP standard, more than double that of most plug-in cars today, so that in theory you can move most of the time using electricity alone on daily trips even if you live in Netanya and work in Ashdod.
The battery also supports fast charging at a rate of up to 50 kW.

The Kofi 01 will be marketed in Israel in two trim levels, with a starting price tag of NIS 270,000, which is the price of the base versions of the Audi Q3 and BMW X1, which are small and significantly weaker, and close to the price of popular plug-in hybrid cars such as the Toyota Rav 4 and Peugeot 3008. The standard equipment list is generous and includes, in addition to 8 airbags and all active safety systems, items such as matrix LED lighting, electrically adjustable heated seats, 21 inch rims and an active noise cancellation system.
The high level of finish whose price is 300 thousand shekels also adds cooling and massage for the front seats, heating for the rear seats, an electric panoramic sunroof and an automatic parking system.
