The Caritas wish tree campaign enables gifts to be given to 70 needy people in Geretsried.

Many have donated

Geretsried – Thanks to the great willingness of the citizens of Geretsried to donate, the wish tree campaign once again fulfilled the heart's desires of people in need.

They bought all the wishing stars and made gifts worth over 3000 euros possible.

Caritas Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen gave them to around 70 children and adults in Geretsried.

"We are pleased that all wishes could be fulfilled this year," says ProCit Chairman Ludwig Schmid.

As reported, the wishing trees were in the member companies Autohaus Billion, Isar-Kaufhaus and Bäckerei Schmid-Bäck.

Girls and boys from the Caritas day-care centers designed the wish stars.

Each one had a heart's desire.

The Caritas advisors and support staff had specifically asked their customers and clients about this beforehand.

Very different groups of people were considered, such as children, single parents and older people.

The initiators bought all the presents, such as a deck of cards for a six-year-old boy or a tasty package of sausages for a 75-year-old, from a local shop.

“In view of the current crises, there were a relatively large number of meal requests and other everyday things this year,” says Caritas district manager Wolfgang Schweiger.

He thanks all donors for their generosity.
