Lighting the last candle of Hanukkah: thousands marked the end of the holiday at the Western Wall Israel today

At the Western Wall plaza, the menorah was lit in the presence of thousands of people, among them the United States Ambassador to Israel Tom Neides, the Taglith organization held events on the occasion of the holiday throughout Ukraine. 

The lighting of the Hanukkah candles took place in the presence of Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitz of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, Israel's Chief Rabbi David Lau, US Ambassador to Israel Tom Neides and his wife Virgina Moseley, Argentina's Chief of Ministers Juan Manzur, Israel Fire and Rescue Commissioner Rabbi Tafser Eyal Caspi, Rabbi Fire Chief Rabbi Haim Perel, Jerusalem District Commander Tafser Shmulik Friedman, Head of Operations Division Tafser Nissim Toito, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation Mordechai (Soli) Eliav, CEO of the Ministry of Religion Mr. Gal Shem Tov, Jerusalem station commanders, fire and rescue personnel , IDF soldiers, dear families, and a wide audience.

Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places Shmuel Rabinowitz said: "We are happy to light the eighth candle of Hanukkah near the place of the miracle of the fat mouth in the presence of thousands of people of Israel who participated throughout the holiday in the presence and participation of thousands who watched live from home and were unable to attend, as a sign of 'For from Zion shall come the Torah and the Word of God. Israel's chief rabbi David Lau added: "A great and special blessing for the Hanukkah holiday that symbolizes the victory of the spirit, a simple flame that says that here thousands of years ago the priests came to return the spiritual light, the light of the flame rising upwards, but in this place that is open to prayer for everyone in the world while keeping The customs and rules of the place, the eyes of the entire Jewish people are directed here, that we may see the light lit in the Temple next year and that the scripture will be fulfilled in us: "Who will give from Zion the salvation of Israel when the Lord returns to rest with his people Jacob will be happy and Israel will be happy".

300 Jews participated in the Hanukkah events of the "Tagalit" organization in Ukraine

About 300 young Jews participated this week in the Hanukkah events of the Taglit organization throughout Ukraine, held in cooperation with the "Hill" organization.

The Taglith organization held Hanukkah events in the five largest cities in Ukraine - Kharkiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa and Dnipro, with candle lighting, donuts, music and activities.
