The projects completed by the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment during the year 2022 varied between developmental and investment services, as basic services were restored to many areas in various governorates to include maintenance and rehabilitation of damaged schools and homes, construction and maintenance of roads, rehabilitation of sewage networks, and expansion in industrial areas.
In the field of maintaining and rehabilitating schools, establishing and maintaining roads and rehabilitating sewage networks:
Rehabilitation of 327 schools with an average of 10,000 classrooms, which returned to service.
Starting the maintenance of 1421 schools.
Rehabilitation of 7 hospitals and 76 health centers.
Rehabilitation of roads with a length of 260.58 km.
Construction of 30 km long roads.
Rehabilitation of sewage networks with a length of 56,533 km.
Allocating divisions and placing industrial and craft facilities in the “industrial cities” service:
135 industrial and craft facilities entered into actual production in the industrial cities, bringing the total number to 2164.
The number of industrial and craft establishments under construction in the industrial cities is 340, bringing the total number of industrial and craft establishments under construction to 3,167.
Allocating 361 industrial and craft establishments with divisions in the industrial cities, bringing the total number of industrial and craft establishments allocated to 10,891 establishments.
Internal transportation services in the governorates:
Distributing 100 buses to internal transport companies and governorates, which the ministry received in the form of a grant from China.
Repairing 58 internal transport buses and returning them to service, bringing the number of operating internal transport buses to 596.
Citizen Service Centers:
Opening 8 citizen service centers in a number of governorates.
Starting the implementation of the solar street lighting project, targeting the main streets in the governorates, after supplying 11,000 lighting devices by the UNHCR.
Restoration of 3,725 partially damaged homes, in cooperation with international organizations.
Deportation of rubble approximately 100,000 cubic meters.
