The decision has been made: this is the best pizzeria in the world Israel today

2022-12-25T10:19:04.398Z

According to a ranking of an international tourist website, the pizzeria that won the first place is in Naples, Italy - and the prices there are not bad at all • And which pizzeria can you get to without even taking a flight?

From a classic pizza according to the book in Milan, to a pizza with Brussels sprouts in Philadelphia, to a za'atar and albana pizza in Cairo, each of these trays tastes, sorry - claims - to the crown.

There is no problem that nibbling on a perfect pizza triangle can't solve, or at least make us forget for a few delightful minutes, until we finish gnawing on the divine dough-cheese-tomato sauce triangle that fell to us (and maybe three or four more triangles, depending on the capacity and the mood).

But pizza, as we know, is a matter of taste.

Thin, crispy and crunchy dough or thick, greasy and spongy?

Extra olives, mushrooms or - for heaven's sake - pineapple and anchovies?

A classic margarita sauce or a cream-based Bianca sauce?

Although many would agree that the Italian wonder is the ultimate junk food, the debate as to what is the best triangle in the world, or even in a country or city, is eternal, as everyone has their own favorite dish.

Still, as befits year-end summaries, the international tourism website Big 7 Travel recently published its ranking of the 50 best global pizzas of 2022, a particularly effervescent list compiled by a team of learned pizza experts.

So that you have something to argue about and/or stop as a stopping point on a future vacation, we have chosen to present to you the first and quite surprising ten in this ranking.

Spoiler: Israel does not appear in the parade at all.

  • What the Crust (Cairo, Egypt)

  • It turns out that the tenth best pizza in the world is not so far from us, right across the border.

Befitting the geographic location of this family business, you will find intriguing Middle Eastern upgrades such as za'atar and labneh.

    Won't you try?

  • Via Toledo Enopizzeria (Vienna, Austria)

  • With authentic Neapolitan pizza served in the heart of the Austrian capital's eighth district, this award-winning pizzeria regularly features in international rankings.

The dough is light and crispy, and goes excellently with the impressive wine menu offered in this elegant place.

  • La Pizza e Bella (Brussels, Belgium)

  • Tired of all the Belgian chocolates and waffles?

This pizzeria, located just a nine-minute walk from the Urinating Boy statue (we've opened a map), will close the corner for you.

Recommended: Pizza with a crust stuffed with buffalo ricotta cheese.

  • 48h Pizza e gnocchi (Melbourne and surroundings, Australia)

  • If you've already driven all the way to the other end of the world, maybe you should visit one of the three branches of this well-respected pizzeria, which boasts airy dough that has risen for 48 hours.

And just so you know: this is also the best pizzeria in Oceania (that is, in Micronesia and New Guinea, no less!).

  • Pizzeria Bedia (Philadelphia, USA)

  • The guys here serve only five pizzas: "regular", green, spicy, with anchovies, and one with Brussels sprouts, lemon cream and onions.

You came, you chose and you paid - and you will probably come back again and again.

Nevertheless, this is one of the favorite pizzerias in the entire USA.

  • Seu Pizza Illuminati (Rome, Italy)

  • A second representation for a pizzeria from the Land of the Boot in the opening ten, this time in the country's capital.

Don't worry, this is not a culinary branch of the Illuminati (or at least we hope so), but a luxurious place that serves, among other things, pizza with lime and tuna tartare.

  • The Good Son (Toronto, Canada)

  • This pizza powerhouse has two branches in the center of Canada's largest city, and everyone is talking about its Hawaiian-style pizza, with grilled pineapple (yes, pizza with pineapple. I wonder what a real Italian has to say about that).

  • Peppe Pizzeria (Paris, France)

  • Pepe, a pizza master who learned the ropes in the Spanish quarter of Naples, did open his award-winning pizzeria right before the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, but still managed to get it the bronze medal.

Recommended pizza: with truffles and original Parisian champignon mushrooms.

  • Ken's Artisan Pizza (Portland, Oregon, USA)

  • Portland is known for its high-quality, hipster coffee scene, but it turns out that it's also strong in unconventional pizzas.

In this place, for example, you can order a crispy pizza baked in a stone oven with a well-made crust and unique toppings such as fennel seeds, pickled Halpinio pepper and a selection of artisan cheeses.

  • 10 By Diego Vitagliano (Naples, Italy)

  • The city of Naples is apparently the birthplace of the beloved dish, at least as we know it today.

While it's full of award-winning pizzerias, this most-honored pizzeria offers refined, traditional margherita platters alongside complex culinary creations such as Sicilian pesto, pistachio and arugula pizza.

Beyond that, every pizza on the menu does not cost more than 10 euros.

    pleasure.
