Miesbach – The theater group of the Miesbach secondary school invited Ukrainian families to a special celebration – including Santa Claus, Krampus and angels.
A large part of the population in Ukraine is Orthodox.
That's why the faithful don't celebrate Christmas until January 7th, and St. Nicholas doesn't come like here on December 6th, but only two weeks later, namely on December 19th.
For this reason, the theater group of the secondary school in Miesbach invited Ukrainian families to a Bavarian-Ukrainian St. Nicholas celebration last Monday.
The theater group of the Realschule led by teacher Klaus Matousek invited Ukrainian children and their parents to the school's old auditorium on Monday, December 19th.
With the money left over from the previous performance, the students decorated the hall for Christmas and, in addition to cookies, punch and coffee, also bought gifts for the children.
These were presented by Nikolaus and Krampus and helping angels.
In the end, everyone was in the mood for Christmas – whether it was December 24th or January 7th.
