A Christmas tragedy took place on a highway in Mexico this weekend.
A couple lost their lives on Sunday during a traffic accident when the truck in which they were traveling accompanied by their 5-month-old baby collided with a containment fence on the
Mexico-Pachuca
highway , in the municipality of Zapotlán, in the state of Hidalgo, reported the Millennium newspaper.
The vehicle was crossed by the fence, as can be seen in images of the accident published by local media.
The baby suffered severe injuries but survived.

Reports indicate that the driver of the Suzuki truck lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into the metal fence of the highway, which divides the lanes.
The crash occurred at kilometer 72 of the Mexico-Pachuca highway.
Rescuers found a man and a woman inside without vital signs.
The baby was found in the back of the car, seriously injured but alive, and was taken to a children's hospital in Pachuca.
The victims were
identified as Marcos Villegas Martínez and Maribel Rocio Cerón Pelcantre
, according to the digital site sdpnoticias, which detailed that the couple resided in the Iztapalapa mayor's office, Mexico City.

It was not the only car accident that occurred at Christmas in Mexico.
Another crash on Sunday afternoon on the Mexico-Pachuca highway left two adults, three minors dead, as well as three minors injured, according to that outlet.
The emergency bodies located a white Volkswagen Bora car with damage caused by an overturn.
The injured minors were taken to a local hospital.
