A former senior official in the Kremlin, who left Russia following the war in Ukraine, was recorded in Tel Aviv.
Anatoly Chubais, who was a senior adviser to President Vladimir Putin until the invasion in February, has reportedly received Israeli citizenship in Russia.
Chubais has Jewish roots thanks to his mother, who was born in Lithuania.
Chubais resigned in March from his position as the special envoy of the Russian president to international organizations and left the country.
Later he fell ill and suffered from paralysis in his arms and legs and was diagnosed as suffering from a rare disorder, however in the West they did not rule out the possibility that he was poisoned by Putin's intelligence services, which were involved in a series of assassinations and attempted assassinations of regime opponents in recent decades.
According to reports in Russia, he and his wife recently received Israeli citizenship that will allow them to live in Europe without the need for a visa.
The European Union imposed severe restrictions on issuing visas to Russian citizens as part of the sanctions it imposed on Moscow following its invasion of Ukraine.
Since leaving Russia, Chubais has been spotted in Italy, Turkey and Cyprus and he and his wife visited Israel back in the spring.
He is considered the architect of the economic reforms led by President Boris Yeltsin with the collapse of the Soviet Union and held a number of senior positions in the Russian government, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
In 2005 he was saved from an assassination attempt in the Moscow area, and in 2008 he was appointed chairman of the government corporation for nanotechnology, a position he held until 2020.
