Has the corona reached its official end as a global epidemic?
According to an announcement issued this evening by the Chinese authorities, the level of routine will be almost fully restored on January 8 and the obligation to isolate will be removed - including for visitors to China.
Officially, it is a return to routine level B, from level A, the highest.
It is not clear if this means the opening of the borders to tourists in a comprehensive manner in the near future, but it seems that this is a significant step towards a return to normality.
In recent weeks, in light of local outbreaks of the virus and additional mass closures that damaged the daily lives of citizens (mainly due to local vaccination failures), there were a series of demonstrations, and the authorities were forced to gradually remove more and more of the restrictions due to the damage to the economy and in fact abandoned the "zero infection" policy.
As a result, there is free movement between the provinces in China, but the country's borders are still closed to anyone who is not considered a resident or a dual citizen.
The opening of China will take place about two and a half years after it was completely closed to tourists.
Until now, everyone entering China had to get special permits, go through a process of several corona tests and go into isolation.
Now, as mentioned, China is expected to eventually open its doors to tourists from all over the world, which means that the direct flights of the Chinese airlines that have already started operating routes to Israel are also expected to be staffed with tourists.
China is one of the most visited and sought-after countries in the world, with world-renowned tourist sites, very high-level cuisine and large cities that are visited by many tourists from all over the world.
