Christmas present at the Musikverein Nandlstadt: The market administration pays the rent for the rehearsal room for two years.

Nandlstadt

– After the most recent market council meeting in Nandlstadt, it is now official: For the next two years, the municipality has the charitable pants on and will take over the rental costs for the new rehearsal quarters of the Nandlstadt Music Association – after all, a total of over 9000 euros.

According to the association, the reason for the request for funding is primarily the lack of income opportunities during the corona pandemic.

4750 euros rent per year

The good news: The Musikverein Nandlstadt with its youth brass band, the market band, big band and pensioner band as well as the a cappella group AuerVoices has finally found a new home - in a local industrial hall, in which an initial reception center for people seeking protection has also been set up is.

However, because the hall with the usable area of around 160 square meters for the club does not belong to the municipality, a rent of 4750 euros per year is due.

The musicians had previously practiced in the old school gym or in the fire station.

The bad news: The club probably can't shell out the rent at the moment - despite annual income of around 10,000 euros.

A list that can be viewed by everyone provides information as to why things are still looking rather poor in the club's coffers.

This is how the income breaks down per year: The association can generate around 1800 euros with contributions, around 3200 euros are earned with concerts, and around 2000 euros in donations flow into the association's coffers.

Over 7000 euros for conductor's fees

But one thing is also surprising here: the Nandlstadt market has probably already supported diligently and not too little in the past - namely, for example for the past year 2022 with a "subsidy fee" of 2550 euros.

The expenses of the association are basically manageable: 1000 euros have to be paid for insurance per year, another 2000 euros are invested in notes.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The second surprise of the rough balance sheet: The largest chunk flows into the so-called and unspecified conductor's fees of the association - an impressive 7200 euros per year.

All in all, the expenses then amount to around 10,000 euros per year.

What can also be read in the written request for funding is the fact that the expenses for instruments, technology, clothing, rehearsal weekends and excursions with the club members would not have been taken into account at all.

In other words, the deficit is actually even greater than described.

Musikverein wants to appear more in the market

If the music association now had to pay the rent itself, the reserves would be used up in a very short time, as the association also noted in writing.

How high these reserves are, however, remains unknown.

What was important for Mayor Gerhard Betz when asked by the FT: "After two years we will meet again.

Then the club should have developed a comprehensible economic concept in order to be able to bear the running costs themselves.

The written promise of the Musikverein read: "With this support, we as a Musikverein can further advance the promotion and experience of music in our community.

In addition, the Musikverein will be more involved in market events.”
