The purpose of the Christmas Carols program is to allow Hong Kong people to celebrate the festival while raising funds through carols to contribute to the healthy growth of the next generation. This year is the 13th year.

Chan Kung Wai-ying, chairperson of the Matching Fund, said that the problem of intergenerational poverty in Hong Kong needs to be solved by all walks of life and the government. This is the original intention of the Child Development Matching Fund.

She pointed out that through these years of hard work, the fund has raised more than 50 million yuan for the children's development matching fund, and has benefited more than 10,000 grassroots children and teenagers.

This year's carol festival has a total of hundreds of hours of caroling performances, filled by nearly a hundred caroling teams, and nearly 5,000 participants.

More than 100 choir teams from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, social welfare organizations, government departments, churches and other groups and free folk groups, during the 14-day carol festival, went to different places in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories to sing Christmas songs for the Hong Kong people who have been troubled by the epidemic cheer.

In addition to raising funds for grassroots teenagers and helping them realize their dreams, the Matching Fund will also arrange for these teenagers to participate in the Y-WE work experience program of its strategic partner "Youth Development Enterprise Alliance", allowing young people to get in touch with the social workplace early, build soft power, and Keep a firm eye on the direction of your career and prepare for the road out of poverty.
