There is a lot going on in Allershausen these days: The Ampertal community is the northern headquarters of the Johanniter Christmas trucker campaign.

Allershausen

– In the days before Christmas, the Johanniter in the regional association were more than busy again: they collected around 2,500 packages for the Christmas trucker.

On the second day of Christmas, he set out on a long journey.

Allershausen also plays an important role in this.

Truck heads east

The hard-working helpers were on the road until just before Christmas Eve so that the transport to the target countries Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania can start this week.

"Even in these uncertain times for many people, the Christmas Trucker is receiving a lot of support.

The willingness to help is overwhelming, and we are grateful for every package and every donation," says Michael Raab, project manager and marketing of the Johanniter in Upper Bavaria.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In Allershausen, on the premises of the Johanniter local association, is the head office for the north of the Upper Bavarian regional association.

From there, the lorries set out every morning to pick up the parcels and bring them there in the evenings to be loaded.

In the south, this is done by the local Johanniter branch in Peißenberg (Weilheim-Schongau district), with support from the Johanniter youth.

Also think of local people

"We not only help with the Christmas trucker in the target countries mentioned, but also work together with the Schrobenhausen and Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm food banks here in the regional association of Upper Bavaria," explains Raab.

The facilities each receive a truck with parcels.

"Because people here on site need our support."
