They wanted to disrupt a church service, but the plans of the last generation of climate activists were summarily thwarted.

Stuttgart - Just a few days ago, climate activists caused a sensation with a curious action in Berlin, the climate adhesives sawed off the top of the Christmas tree.

Now the activists of the Last Generation group are making headlines again, but because their planned action was thwarted.

The climate activists wanted to disrupt a Christmas service broadcast live on ARD television.

Climate activists want to storm the service - plans are foiled without further ado

According to the police, however, the activists' plans were thwarted.

Since there were indications of the planned action on Christmas Eve in the Church of the Resurrection in Stuttgart-Möhringen, the service was recorded the day before, the police said on Saturday.

On Christmas Eve, eight activists from the group turned up in front of the church at noon to carry out their planned action.

But they would not have found a live broadcast, but a closed church.

The parish office called the police.

When they arrived, the officials found two potential troublemakers, who were released after being sent off.

Climate activists Last generation with numerous actions in the past few months

Since the beginning of 2022, the last generation has been blocking motorway exits and intersections in numerous large cities to fight for more climate protection.

There were also campaigns in museums, stadiums, ministries, at airports and on oil pipelines.

However, one of the actions backfired properly.

Two climate activists of the last generation stuck themselves in the concert hall of Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie.

But without further ado, the two were simply placed in the hallway, and a photo captures the curious moment.

In another action, an activist had used glue that was too strong and had to be flexed free.

He's getting mockery online for that.
