David Lisnard: “What we manage to do locally can be achieved nationally”

INTERVIEW – David Lisnard is LR mayor of Cannes and president of the Association of Mayors of France. It has made the fight against delinquency an important part of its municipal management.

- At the heart of the civic crisis that you regularly denounce, how do you observe the evolution of violence among young people?

David LISNARD

- It is first of all a statistical reality, since we would be at around 200,000 acts of delinquency per year.

It is also strange to note that there is little reliable data on the subject, while everyone measures the importance of quantifying a phenomenon to better treat it.

But there is also a reality on the ground, regularly observed in large cities and in rural communities.

Between the figures, facts and analyzes available to us, we know that the increase in juvenile delinquency is therefore a reality, which also affects young girls.

Moreover, in the fall, the President of the Republic and the Minister of the Interior recognized a correlation between insecurity and foreigners.

It is factual and these subjects must be treated clinically.
