Relieved about the innovation: Holzkirchen's sports officer Jörg Wedekind is happy that supply and demand for hall occupancy can now be viewed digitally.

It should be transparent and simple: Holzkirchen uses a digital hall allocation plan.
Sports officer Jörg Wedekind explains how it's done.
Holzkirchen
– Digitization is finding its way into sports in Holzkirchen: in future, the occupancy of the sports halls will be handled via a website.
Organized sports groups can now see on the Internet which halls have free capacity – and easily book them if necessary.
"We are happy that one of the first points of the sports development plan has been dealt with," says Jörg Wedekind.
He is the sports officer for the municipality of Holzkirchen, and you can hear his relief.
Actually, reports Wedekind, the software should have been used at the beginning of the year.
But then it turned out that more work was needed than previously assumed.
Now the homepage is online.
Future users will have an account activated in the system, said location promoter Eva-Maria Schmitz.
The digital hall occupancy plan was created in cooperation between the sports officer and the Holzkirchner location promotion.
So far, who is allowed to go to which hall and when has been decided at a meeting in September.
The organized sports groups come together with Wedekind.
Schools have priority, then the sports clubs with their indoor sports, followed by other clubs in the district, teacher and company sports and finally other groups such as national associations.
Software does not change the procedure, but provides an overview
The new software will not change this procedure, explains Wedekind.
What is new, however, is that the assignments are no longer recorded in a table that Wedekind manages.
The software enables those responsible for sport to obtain insights at any time at the push of a button.
"It's transparent for everyone," emphasizes Wedekind.
And for the sports officer, it makes his job easier.
So far, if a club was looking for additional indoor times - for example because more training was needed - then they would ask Wedekind by email or telephone.
He then had to research his tables to see whether a sports group did not need their place at short notice.
That was cumbersome and took time, explains Wedekind.
From now on, supply and demand can be viewed on the Internet.
If you have additional requirements for hall times, you can book a free place at the push of a button.
Wedekind then receives a message from the system and can also confirm this by pressing a button.
Transparent and simple, that's how Wedekind summarizes the new system.
Users are those responsible for sports in Holzkirchner, trainers and trainers, for example.
The software is not intended for private use, Wedekind notes.
"You can't look at the homepage and then register directly for the respective sport," said the officer.
As before, this must be done through the clubs.
Diversity of the sports offer becomes visible
But for Schmitz, the homepage also has an advantage for the Holzkirchner population: It should show "how diverse our sports offer is and when which club is in which hall with which offer", she says on request.

Even if Wedekind's work as a sports officer is now easier - the development of the digital solution still posed a major challenge last year. The information from his tables had to be entered into the system, and the software itself had to be adjusted again and again.
But now he is happy that the project has been realized, says Wedekind.
The digital hall allocation plan is online.
Users must register in order to be able to make a booking request.
However, only those responsible for sports in Holzkirchen can register - people, according to Holzkirchen's sports officer Jörg Wedekind with a smile, who "have inhaled the regulations for the use of the hall".
However, the hall occupancy itself can be viewed by everyone.
