Ahead of the funeral procession, the police are announcing traffic changes and asking the public to avoid arriving in the Shapira Center area and the roads close to it.

The funeral procession is expected to leave the settlement of Merkaz Shapira for the cemetery in the nearby Beshouat Yitzhak.

Because of this, the authorities are preparing for unusual traffic congestion and the blocking of major roads in the area of ​​the Shapir Regional Council.

The police are asking the public to avoid coming to the area until the afternoon.

In accordance with this, the family also calls on the public to prefer arriving at the funeral by means of organized transportation and asks to be careful to follow the instructions of the police.

When the obituaries are over, the public who come to say goodbye to the rabbi are asked to stay in the obituary complex from where they can watch the funeral procession and the burial which will be broadcast on screens.

Due to a space limit at the Mashuat Yitzhak cemetery, the burial will take place in the presence of family and acquaintances only.

The police are preparing to secure the multi-participant event.

Hundreds of police officers, volunteers and MGB soldiers from the various police units will take part in maintaining public order and directing traffic. This is to enable the funeral procession to take place in a respectful and safe manner.

The expected changes in the traffic arrangements:

  • Highway 3 between Hodia Junction and Beer Tovia Junction will be closed to traffic.

  • Highway 232 will be blocked to the south, between the Eshkolot junction and the Hodia junction.

  • Highway 232 will be blocked heading north from the Givat junction to the Hodia junction.

  • Road 3612 - traffic will be allowed in the north direction only and through organized shuttles.

  • Entry to Route 3 will only be allowed for organized buses or residents of the area upon presentation of an ID card.

  • Entry to the Negev will be possible only from the southern entrance on Route 35, and only for local residents upon presentation of an ID card.

The public road users are advised to use the navigation apps that will be updated regarding roadblocks and changes in the traffic regulations, as well as the 110 hotline, the information center of the Israel Police.

The police ask the participants in the funeral journey to drive patiently, to avoid urgency and urgent situations.

The public is asked to avoid arriving with small children.

During the event, it is absolutely forbidden to climb fences, balconies, trees, buildings and roofs or to hang onto a moving vehicle.

Also, the public is asked not to park vehicles on the traffic lanes - a vehicle that is a hindrance will be towed.

In the meantime, the MDA is also preparing to medically secure the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Druckman. The organization's forces will be deployed in the places where the funeral journey will pass, in order to provide immediate medical attention to anyone who needs it.

In order to allow the MDA forces in the area to continue to operate in the shadow of the blockades and access problems, the organization is preparing for the activation of foot squads, and the distribution of ambulances and intensive care vehicles in central locations, in order to enable rapid arrival and the provision of rapid medical treatment to anyone who needs it in the area, during and after the funeral journey.

The MDA reminds the public that even during the funeral, the MDA center will continue to receive routine calls from around the region and that the MDA forces are prepared to respond to any call in the shortest possible time. The public is asked to avoid crowding and congestion centers, make sure to drink plenty of water, and wrap up as necessary in warm clothing and call MDA for any medical need that may arise.
