The Fraud Unit of the Merkaz District Police today (Monday) arrested another suspect, in his fifties, on suspicion of involvement in the giant coat of arms in Moshav Ahismach near Lod, which was exposed last week.

The suspect will be brought in tomorrow for an extension of detention together with the first suspect arrested in the case, a 54-year-old resident of the moshav.

The suspicion of embezzlement of approximately NIS 122 million from the cooperative society's funds was revealed last week with the arrest of the first suspect.

The investigation actually began about two weeks ago, after the police received several complaints about suspected embezzlement.

At first, the investigation was conducted undercover, during which the investigators collected evidence.

Last week, the investigation became public, with the raid of the fraud unit investigators on the association's offices in Moshav.

The investigators searched the offices, collected documents and invoices, confiscated computers and arrested the main suspect.

The offenses attributed to him are theft by an authorized person, doing a prohibited act with property, receiving something fraudulently under aggravating circumstances and the prohibition of money laundering.

During his interrogation by the police, the suspect said that he was blackmailed by several families in Moshav who demanded that he provide them with loans from the cooperative association's funds, but claimed that he had not committed anything criminal.

His detention was extended by eight days.
