At least three Russian soldiers have died this Monday in an attack with a Ukrainian drone against the Engels airfield, located in the territory of the Russian region of Saratov, about 500 kilometers east of Ukraine, as reported by Moscow.

The Kremlin's anti-aircraft defenses shot down the device around 3:30 in the morning and the fall of the remains of the device caused the death of the three soldiers, according to the statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

This is not the first time that Moscow accuses kyiv of attacking its territory: on December 5, the Kremlin certified two attacks on separate military bases in which three soldiers died.

Ukraine plans to ask this Monday for the removal of Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba has announced.

"We have a simple question: Does Russia have the right to remain a permanent member of the UN Security Council?" Kuleba said Sunday night in a national television address.

“We have a convincing and reasoned answer: no, it doesn't,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Government of Belarus has indicated that the Iskander missile system and the S-400 air defense systems deployed by Moscow in the country are now ready to go into operation.

Ukraine will ask on Monday to exclude Russia from the UN Security Council

Ukraine plans to request this Monday the removal of Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba has announced.

“Tomorrow we will officially express our position.

We have a simple question: Does Russia have the right to remain a permanent member of the UN Security Council?" Kuleba said Sunday night in a national television address.

“We have a convincing and reasoned answer: no, it doesn't,” she said.

Kuleba indicated that the presence of Russia as a permanent member, with veto power, of the Security Council, is already being discussed in diplomatic circles.

The other permanent members are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and China.

Several countries have sought to reform the body, some even criticizing its lack of representativeness for not having permanent seats for countries in Africa and Latin America.

US President Joe Biden urged in September to expand the Security Council to make it "more inclusive."

Russia is primed with constant bombardments against Kherson

The seams in the asphalt are fresh, the attack has scattered pieces of cement and dirt on the sidewalk and the highway.

Next to the burst pavement, in the heart of the city of Kherson, savagely attacked these days by Russian forces, a colorful advertisement attached to a street lamp advertises trips to Prague, Spain, Georgia or Italy.

The cardboard is still shiny and so out of place that two men smoking next to it, next to a fresh blackish stain on the road, can't help but glance at it.

This Saturday, a Russian bombardment at that same point added to two others in the nearby streets killed a dozen people and injured 60, the vast majority of them civilians, according to the Ukrainian authorities.

Danylo Stepaniuk, one of the smokers, says that one of the dead was a young man who had just returned to the city to evacuate his mother from a city where living conditions are becoming more difficult.

The attack caught the boy in the car and left his body charred, Stepaniuk says.

Hello.

We resume the live narration of this new day of the Russian offensive in Ukraine, which this Monday turns 306.

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his traditional daily televised address that "this year, Russia has lost everything it could" in its invasion of the country.

“We have to be aware that our enemy will try to make this difficult and dark time for us,” he recalled.

"He is trying to make up his losses with the cunning of his propagandists after the missile attacks on our country, against our energy sector."

The Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denis Shmihal, estimated that his country has received commitments from its international partners amounting to 1.5 billion dollars (more or less the same amount in euros) to guarantee the supply of energy in the country after the Russian bombardments against its basic infrastructures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West of wanting to "divide" his country, while the Kremlin's goal is "to unite the Russian people."

In an interview on the national public broadcaster, Putin reiterated that he is ready to negotiate to find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine, although he continues to blame kyiv and its Western allies for blocking the dialogue.

The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich, has reported that at least 16 people have been killed in the southern Ukrainian province in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian troops are keeping the Bakhmut front, a city located in the Donetsk region (east), under control despite constant fire from Russia.

According to the figures provided by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, more than 50 Russian soldiers have died and some 80 have been wounded in the context of the clashes over Bakhmut, which has become one of the most dangerous points in recent days. hot in the conflict in Ukraine.
