On the Christmas walk, the participants also stayed with the shepherds in the field.
Two live sheep were seen there, much to the children's delight.

"Star over Bethlehem, show us the way, lead us to the crib, show where it is, lead us to the child": according to the well-known song, numerous families with their children set out on the Peiting Christmas Walk on Christmas Eve , to absorb the feast of the Incarnation of God with all your senses.
Peiting
– For the third time, the Catholic Parish Association of Peiting-Hohenpeißenberg and the Evangelical parish of Peiting-Herzogsägmühle have invited to the around one and a half kilometer long Christmas Walk.
"It is not only important that we put ourselves in the place of the time and the country of Jesus' birth," said pastoral advisor Thomas Tralmer.
"At the same time, we can place what happened in the past into our present, into our landscape."
No snow, but fortunately no rain either
The child lies in the manger in front of the altar of the parish church of St. Michael, which was impressively decorated for Christmas again this year by Mesner Josef Schleich and his extended family.
Likewise, the volunteers at the five stations go to great lengths to speak to people's hearts.
"Jesus lets the children come to him, caresses them warmly and gives us the instruction to become like children," left Odilo Lechner, the former abbot of St. Bonifaz and Andechs, as an eternal legacy.
Various groups, such as the Familienmusik Bader here, came up with Advent and Christmas sounds.

Just as Pastor Robert Kröpfl told everyone at Christmas Mass that it is crucial that Jesus is born in people themselves.
There was no snow this time either, but at least it didn't rain like in the past two years.
More than 100 children were already waiting with their parents, grandfathers and grandmothers on the lower main square around the Barbara fountain before the first group heard the “Magi from the Orient” at 3 p.m., a joint prayer with Mayor Peter Ostenrieder, and the blessing of Pastor Brigitte Weggel was sent on her way.
Provided with accompanying booklets with songs and texts by the "ground staff".

Following the star, the visitors first rested in Herod's palace at the "Simabauer" in Freistrasse.
The scene was set up so well that everyone could imagine themselves back in Roman times.
Who knows, maybe it wasn't just the "Villa Rustica" that stood in the Neukirchwiesen near Peiting.
Everyone was able to sing along to the heavenly sounds in front of the parish hall – supported by the Bader family band and a youth group from the Peiting miners' and traditional costume band.
Then off home for the presents
Then angels proclaimed the good news of Christ's birth in the stable of Bethlehem to the shepherds in the field.
There, in front of the imposing building of the old girls' school, not only the shepherds could warm themselves at the campfire.
The children's eyes beamed at the sight of the two living sheep that Franz Wörnzhofer made available for the scene.

With the song “Your little children are coming”, accompanied by the organ, the girls and boys went to the “goal of our hope”, the child in the manger, in the parish church of St. Michael.
After the blessing of Pastor Robert Kröpfl and the familiar song "Silent Night" we went home to give presents under the Christmas tree.
