Complaints about sleep disorders because of a radio mast in Oberpfaffenhofen were heard on social media.
The mast does not transmit at all.
Oberpfaffenhofen – Irritated, the Weßling municipality turns to parts of the citizenry on its website.
As reported, a new radio mast is being built on the Adelberg in Oberpfaffenhofen in these weeks.
Although it is not yet operational, citizens have apparently already complained about insomnia on social media.
Funkmas am Adelberg scares local residents – but it doesn't broadcast at all
The radio mast on Adelberg in Oberpfaffenhofen is temporary.
As reported, the mobile mast will later be replaced by a 40 meter high structure at a different location.
The building committee had approved this in the summer.
There was also a discussion about the question of liability in relation to possible damage that, in the eyes of the critics, could emanate from a mobile phone mast.
Mayor Michael Sturm had clarified this with the district office.
According to this, the liability would have to be assumed by the mobile phone operators, and to the full extent.
Local residents announced that they would sue, especially as they saw no need for the fourth radio mast.
But this has also been clarified, according to Sturm.
Mayor at a loss: "Sleep disorders incomprehensible"
The mast is now being erected.
"He is not currently broadcasting," says the community on the website.
"As a result, network coverage will only improve in the next few days." Good network coverage is important because dead spots are a problem in emergencies, for example, when the necessary help cannot be requested in good time.
"It is incomprehensible that some citizens are already complaining about sleep disorders due to the mobile phone mast on social media.
It has been proven that these sleep disturbances cannot have been caused by the transmitters on the new mast, as they are not yet in operation.”
