In the midst of a storm in the Negev: the helicopter rescued 12 travelers who were trapped in the flood Israel today

Rescue in the middle of the storm:

the flight crew of a helicopter in the rescue and transport squadron of the "Night Dorseys" rescued 12 travelers who were caught in a flood in the south last night (Monday). 

The pilots Lt. Col. Y. and Lt. Col. (resp.) N. and the airborne mechanics Major (resp.) S. and Sergeant M. were in the midst of a routine training flight in the area.

When they arrived at Ein Yahav, they received a call from the flight controller that they had to deviate from training for an operational mission.

The controller gave details about a group of 12 travelers who were caught in a flood in the Sde Boker area, and have been trapped there for several hours.

The helicopter crew found four adults and eight children with two jeeps that were completely submerged in the mud following the storm.

Despite the weather conditions, the team collected the travelers and evacuated them to the civil rescue unit in Sde Boker.

"The squadron conducts such training routinely as part of practicing the capabilities and machines for real time," said the squadron commander, Lt. Col. Y., "I am very happy that a day that started with routine training ended with taking part in saving a life."
