Almost all night, rescue workers with dogs and drones around Hilgertshausen-Tandern searched for a 72-year-old missing person - without success.
The missing person turned up safely on Tuesday morning.
Hilgertshausen-Tandern – The 72-year-old man from the Dachau district left his home on Sunday morning, a police spokesman said yesterday.
On Monday evening, an acquaintance reported the man, who is dependent on medication, as missing.
The search began at 8 p.m. According to the police, both drone squadrons and dog squadrons – both mantrailer and area search dogs – were deployed.
The helicopter could not take off due to the bad weather - it was raining heavily, so visibility was severely restricted - as could a special drone from the Oberpfaffenhofen volunteer fire brigade.
According to the police, wooded areas and the surrounding area were searched, the Pfaffenhofen fire brigade's forces searched a defined area on foot with a thermal imaging camera, as the fire brigade announced.
However, the search was unsuccessful.
At 3 a.m. it was broken off but was due to continue in the morning hours.
But it didn't go that far: the 72-year-old returned to his house in the morning, unharmed and safe.
He was medically examined, according to the police spokesman, but was able to stay at home.
