Importer Mercedes launches the new GLC in gasoline and plug-in hybrid models with an electric range of 119 km • Price: from NIS 470,000

Kalmobil, a Mercedes importer, launched in Israel the new GLC model, which may be one of its popular models in the coming year.

With the new GLC, the company hopes to continue this year's positive trend, when despite a 6% decrease in luxury market sales in Israel last year, Mercedes actually managed to grow by 19% and deliver 4,049 cars here (not including taxis).

One of the reasons for the successful year is the increase in demand for the electric models, which this year accounted for about 38% of Mercedes deliveries in Israel.

The new GLC, whose marketing begins today in Israel, is the second generation of the luxury family recreational vehicle which competes here with models such as the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Genesis GV70 and BMW X3.

In the new model, Mercedes chose to polish the exterior design with a sporty-elegant and handsome look, and despite the obvious resemblance to the outgoing generation, it is actually a completely new car.

You will find the significant change in design in the passenger cabin, which has adopted the manufacturer's new design language that we also saw in the new C and S Class models, and is a significant upgrade compared to the outgoing generation in terms of the quality and design of the driver and passenger environment, which now includes an impressive technological display with a large vertical central screen , smartphone connectivity, remote software updates, rich equipment from the basic trim level and a wide original safety package that includes partial autonomous capabilities.

The new GLC,

The range of models at the start of marketing includes three models and starts with the GLC200 equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a mild hybrid boost that produces 204 hp.

With this engine, the GLC accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 221 km/h and registers a fuel consumption of 12.8 km per liter.

Above it is offered the GLC300, which is also equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with hybrid boost, producing an upgraded power of 258 hp.

In this version, the acceleration to 100 km/h is shortened to 6.2 seconds, the maximum speed is 240 km/h with the same fuel consumption.

At the top of the model range for now is the GLC300e, the plug-in hybrid version that produces a combined power of 313 hp that allows acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, a maximum speed of 218 km/h and the possibility of driving on electricity only for a range of Up to 119 km thanks to a battery with a capacity of 31.2 kWh.

The company also talks about increased off-road capabilities in the new model, when all vehicles are equipped with dual-wheel drive, a driving mode selector with an off-road driving program, ground clearance that has grown by 20 mm and an option for air suspensions that also allow the vehicle to be raised when necessary.

For the first time, rear steering will also be offered in the car, allowing a smaller turning diameter than the small Mercedes A-Class.

The prices of the new Mercedes GLC are growing slightly with an increase of NIS 10,000 in the entry version compared to the outgoing generation, and will start at NIS 470,000 for the GLC200 version, from NIS 510,000 for the GLC300 version and from NIS 550,000 for the plug-in version.

As with all Mercedes models, starting from January 2023 the warranty expands and will be 4 years or up to 100,000 km.
