Murnau: Successful fraud with "Whats App" scam

Woman transferred 15,000 euros to scammers in several transfers.

GAP - Between December 20th, 2022 and December 25th, 2022, a 59-year-old woman from Murnau was contacted by SMS by an unknown fraudster.

The caller posed as her son and asked for money.

The stranger demanded 15,000 euros via WhatsApp.

Since the "supposed son" stated that he was in financial distress, the woman transferred the amount in several transfers.

The booty damage amounts to around 15,000 euros.
