The anticipation was great, the success huge.
The eagerly awaited Christmas serenade at the Oskar-Maria-Graf-Gymnasium in Neufahrn exceeded all expectations.
Neufahrn
- After a forced two-year break, the music student council put together a program that left nothing to be desired.
The various ensembles covered a wide spectrum.
The hand-picked repertoire testified to demand and variety.
The stylistic range was enormous.
The fact that a calypso can definitely add to the Christmas spirit was shown by a piece performed with chutzpah by the big band class 6 under the direction of Thomas Innerebner and Jakob Guglhör.
A rarely heard piece made the hearts of almost 500 visitors beat faster
The lower school choir also had much more to offer than the usual Christmas classics.
The best example of this was "Love Shone Down".
A rarely heard piece that made the hearts of almost 500 visitors beat faster.
One of the highlights of this gala evening at the OMG was undoubtedly the string ensemble’s “Small Suite”, which was performed with bravura and conducted by Christoph Nebas.
Not to be forgotten: the celebrated performance of the ten-strong choir of Ukrainian schoolchildren.
How much she touched the Christmas carol from her home country with the title "Good evening, dear host" could be felt right down to the last row.
They not only sang, but also danced along.
The countless rehearsals since September have paid off
Headmaster Stefan Bäumel was right in his assessment that this would be an exceptional Christmas serenade.
In addition to the ensembles mentioned, the school band, the teachers' choir and the junior jazz orchestra, the vocal ensemble and the large jazz orchestra also knew how to inspire.
After the performance, there was no doubt that the countless rehearsals since September and the work that was put into the school project was worth it.
Ukrainian students knew how to inspire the audience with a traditional Christmas carol from their homeland.

Especially not with the big winners of the traditional benefit event.
Since 1998, the entrance fees and all proceeds from the stalls in the school auditorium have been donated to the aid organization "Volutarias Alemanas", which supports the children's hospital in La Paz.
The Neufahrner co-founder and long-time managing director Ingeborg Bornhorst was completely satisfied.
"We never thought that so many people would come and so many children would take part," said Bornhorst.
Although the coins have not yet been counted, more than 2,000 euros have already been collected for the good cause, she said when asked by FT.

The gain that the Christmas Serenade brought to the community spirit at the school is immeasurable.
Anyone who looked at the happy faces in turn knew how to appreciate it.
"It's good to see what's possible," concluded music teacher Christoph Nebas.
