The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Bari has issued a prison order for 35-year-old Addolorata Cuzzi, convicted of voluntary homicide and concealment of a body in competition with her ex-husband, as specified in a note.
The sentence relates to the killing of Stefano Melillo, the 28-year-old worker from Toritto whose body was found in a well inside an abandoned farmhouse adjacent to the sports field of Binetto (Bari) on 13 June 2016.
According to the investigations by the Carabinieri, the woman convinced her ex-husband to kill him
to put an end to the relationship she had started with Melillo
.
She would have lured the then 28-year-old to the sports field with an excuse and then Burdi would have first strangled him with a rope, then hit him on the head with an iron bar and finally with a large boulder causing his death.
The 35-year-old, definitively sentenced to 16 years' imprisonment, after returning from Belgium was tracked down and arrested by the carabinieri who then took her to the Trani prison.
The woman's ex-husband, Crescenzo Burdi, has also been convicted of Melillo's murder.
