Investigators of the police station in Petah Tikva opened an investigation yesterday upon receiving a report from the Schneider Medical Center in Petah Tikva for suspicion of causing injury to a two-year-old toddler who came for treatment there.

According to the suspicion, the parents brought their toddler son to the Schneider Medical Center in Petah Tikva after they claimed that their son had been accidentally injured.

An examination carried out by the doctors at the scene raised the suspicion that the bruises inflicted on the toddler were allegedly caused maliciously.

The two parents, residents of the city in their 20s, were arrested last night and at the end of their investigation were imprisoned.

This morning the two parents will be brought to a hearing at Bimesh in Petah Tikva to request that their detention be extended.
