A Russian regional MP fell to his death from the third floor of a hotel in India.
The Indian police are currently investigating whether it was a suicide or an accident, a police inspector told the Hindustan Times.
It is said that 65-year-old Pawel Antow celebrated his birthday in the eastern Indian state of Odisha.
Most recently, several influential Russian businessmen and millionaires died in unusual ways.
The case of Antov, who became wealthy as a meat and sausage manufacturer and was a deputy for the Kremlin party »United Russia«, caused a stir in the media in Moscow and Ukraine.
Ukrainian media recalled that Antov described Russia's war against Ukraine as terror on social media.
It is said that he withdrew the post and swore allegiance to the system of Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin.
MPs speak of "tragedy"
The regional parliament in Vladimir published a letter of condolence.
The deputies were shocked by the "tragedy" and Antow was full of energy and plans.
He was also one of the most active patrons of cultural projects in the region.
It is said to be a great loss for the region.
Three days before Antow's death on Sunday, one of his three companions died of a heart attack in the same hotel, the police inspector told the Indian news agency ANI.
Antow was depressed after the death of his friend.
Both bodies were then cremated.
The Russians' Indian guide told ANI they had alcohol with them when they checked into the hotel and that they were drunk.
In early September, the chairman of the board of directors of the oil company Lukoil, Rawil Maganov, died after falling out of a Moscow hospital window.
In April, former deputy head of Gazprombank Vladislav Avayev was found dead in his Moscow apartment with his wife and daughter.
Investigators said the 51-year-old killed his family and himself.
Residents of the house doubted that.
A few days ago, the general director at the Admiralty shipyard in Saint Petersburg, Alexander Buzakov, and the former army commander Alexei Maslov died.
Information on the causes of death was not made public.
