Record!

A passionate deposit collector has fulfilled his personal dream and broke the 50 euro mark for the first time with a single deposit bond.

Ingolstadt – He is a household name among fellow collectors: Reddit user Pixelside regularly causes a stir in northern Upper Bavaria with high deposit vouchers from the Edeka he trusts.

In the Edeka branch "El Mustapha" in Neuburg an der Donau (Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district), Pixelside always gives away huge amounts of returnable bottles and posts the result on Reddit.

Edeka customers with a soft spot for deposit returns have an eventful history

The Upper Bavarian had already achieved 47.75 euros on a deposit voucher in August, a “good day” for him.

At the end of October, it was only enough for a “Feast at McDonalds” at 32.65 euros.

A statement for which Pixelside was immediately declassified as a "bonze".

Shortly thereafter, the man from the Ingolstadt area followed suit and still managed to earn 37.66 euros, which he said he wanted to use as “fuel money”.

Unfortunately, the sum will not have been enough to fill up the tank.

However, the collector has never been able to cross a magical limit: he once earned more than 50 euros with a single deposit voucher.

That would certainly be possible with a visit to the supermarket.

At least 200 cans and one-way bottles (deposit of 25 cents each) would be necessary for this.

Done!

Edeka customer from the Ingolstadt area has cracked the 50 euro mark

And the returnable bottle expert has finally proven that this is not only possible in theory, and has given himself a very special Christmas present.

50.91 euros - tight, but done!

Fun fact: The collected pawned goods worth more than 50 euros even fit into a single shopping cart, as the Reddit user proudly shows with a photo.

A personal record – shopping trolleys full of empties and a deposit receipt prove: the Upper Bavarian has cracked the 50 euro mark.

An emotional comment on this: "New personal record", writes Pixelside to the two pictures.

One detail is surprising when you take a closer look at the deposit voucher in question.

Pixelside did not hand over the pledged goods to its usual Edeka “El Mustapha” in Neuburg an der Donau.

Instead, he uses the E-Center in Gaimersheim, 20 kilometers away north of Ingolstadt.

Possibly "El Mustapha" der Pfandfan was simply too exhausting with his regular visits.

In any case, Pixelside can afford one or the other Christmas present with this deposit voucher.

Or else, he's enjoying another feast at McDonald's.
