11 injured at Citybus Tram Stop in Causeway Bay, a double-decker bus crashed into the bottom of a bridge when it was diverted

A car accident occurred in Causeway Bay. At around 5:00 a.m., it was reported that a double-decker bus on the N72 line of Citybus was driving eastbound on Causeway Road near Shun Tak Street.

Around 5:00 a.m., it was reported that a double-decker bus on the N72 line of Citybus was driving to the east of Causeway Road near Shun Tak Street. It suddenly smashed into the iron fence and shoveled it onto the Shun Tak Street Tram Stop. Mouth of the stone pillar, about 11 people were injured.

After receiving the report, the Fire Department listed it as a "mass casualty" accident, and dispatched at least 5 ambulances, mobile wounded treatment vehicles and multiple fire engines to rescue.

As far as the scene saw, many injured people were sitting on the ground waiting for rescue, and the front of the bus was seriously damaged.

The accident did not involve tram tracks.

The police are investigating the cause of the car accident and are trying to figure out whether the driver was fatigued when the accident happened.

It is understood that at about 5:25, the police officers at the scene instructed another double-decker N619 Citybus to turn left at Yee Wo Street into Sugar Street, and then turn out of Gloucester Road to leave. When the city bus reached the junction of Sugar Street and Gloucester Road, it did not turn left and continued to drive straight. Finally, the roof on the left side hit the bottom of the Gloucester Road Flyover, and the roof and upper front glass burst. Fortunately, no one was injured.

As far as the scene can see, there is a 3.5-meter-high clearance sign hanging at the bottom of the bridge.

The double-decker bus involved is an Alexander Dennis Enviro 500. According to the information, the bus is about 4.4 meters high, which is higher than the bottom of the bridge involved.
