A Holon resident turned to the police she met on the street and claimed that her husband was beating her, the police went to her apartment and found 20 kg of drugs • However, the judge did not accept the police's request to extend the woman's detention by seven days and ordered her release to house arrest • "It does not appear that in her testimony she Avoids giving everything she knows about the incident to the police," he wrote in his decision

Even a court defined the circumstances of this case as somewhat strange:

a 26-year-old Holon resident turned to the police that she met on the street and claimed that her husband was beating her. The police went to her apartment, where they did not find the husband, but found 20 kg of drugs and detained her for questioning.

Yesterday, the woman met a policeman on the street and told him that she was a battered woman, after which a team of policemen arrived at the address she gave.

During the attempt to locate the beating husband, a drug lab was found in the apartment.

In the apartment, cannabis-type drugs weighing about 20 kg and various drugs in small weights were seized. The police team arrested the woman on suspicion of growing drugs and during her interrogation she said that she and her husband were in financial debt, and therefore they gave the apartment to another person who promised them a financial reward and according to them, he is the same A person who handled the drug lab.

"It's easy to catch the weak link"

After an investigation, she was arrested and brought to court, where the police representative said that during a search of the apartment, the suspect tried to disrupt an active investigation, while trying to prevent the officers from entering the room where the cannabis plants were.

Attorney Samson Weiss, who represented her on behalf of the public defender, asked for her release and said that there is a strong feeling that the police are looking for the coin under the lamp. "A woman comes complaining that she is afraid of her husband.

From the first moment, a version is given that refers to this matter, incriminating those who need to be incriminated, giving the address of the apartment to those policemen she met, where the laboratory is allegedly located, where they can find the husband," said Attorney Weiss and added: "It is unthinkable that she is part of the laboratory , who is the main factor and also gives the address to the police. She is married to a man who apparently has this as his occupation, who has a criminal record in this area, and he and his brother are apparently the main factors. But it is easy to catch the weak link."

Meanwhile, Judge Binyamin Hirschel Doron did not accept the police's request to extend the woman's detention by seven days and ordered her release to house arrest.

Among other things, in his decision he wrote that the circumstances of the case are a little strange, since she turned to the policeman on the street and reported an incident of violence against her by her husband and then when a police force arrives at the apartment, a drug laboratory is discovered in the house.

"In my opinion, and as far as this suspect is concerned, the investigation is over. She admits to committing the act, is cooperating with the investigation, and it does not appear that in her testimony she is avoiding giving everything she knows about the incident to the police, and when the requested investigative actions do not focus on the suspect's actions, but on other actions, it is appropriate to order Her release as an alternative to detention," Judge Doron wrote in his decision.
