Containers with equipment were washed ashore, crowds came to collect goods (documentation on social networks according to Section 27 A of the Copyright Law)
In contrast to the divided political situation in the country, thousands of people from all sectors - Jews, Arabs, religious and secular arrived yesterday (Tuesday) smiling at the shores of Ashkelon and side by side they collected the products that were swept away from the containers that were detached from the cargo ship.
"Look at the coexistence here," the residents said.
The stormy weather caused the drift of nine containers from a ship docked near the breakwater in the city, and about three of them found their way to the shore full of goods.
Even the elders of the city do not remember traffic jams at the entrance to the beaches in the winter months, but the drift of containers brought thousands to the beaches in the cold winter.
At the entrance to Ashkelon, the salesman at the gas station already asks "Have you been or are you on your way?", everyone knew what he meant.
Indeed, there were traffic jams going down to the beaches.
Ohad, a resident of the city, wrings out his clothes in the parking lot, "Everyone is in the water here, I came in too, it's a little cold, I managed to get out blankets and some glasses and household utensils," he says while drying himself.

The beach looks like the well-known Breeze festival in the city, hundreds of people at night collect from everything that comes by;
Comes with bags, sacks, everything with which can be carried.
Trucks, jeeps, ATVs, vans and even normal vehicles have become 4 x 4 vehicles for carrying the goods.
There are dozens in the water, they are taking the goods out of the containers, "everything is here, from disposable containers, to household items and even people have taken out refrigerators and blankets" says Maor.
Yasser came from Be'er Sheva with the van and he filled it: "We came because we heard that there were all kinds of things being thrown into the water. Some of us went in and left with loot," he says.
One of the residents believes that the goods reached the beaches only because of Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, "You saw what Lieberman said, what happened? Lieberman said not to buy and raised the prices for us. Look, God gave us a gift. What did we take? One-time."

There is also criticism of the influx to the beaches "Maybe it will show our city in a less good light" says one of the residents "There are some who will laugh but they were the first to be at the beach" said another resident.
