Family father (44) dies in an accident with Tesla

A terrible accident on the A 93 near Kiefersfelden cost the life of a 44-year-old father from the Erding district.

His children (4 and 10) and their mother were injured and taken to the hospital.

A helicopter was in action.

– A family of four from the Erding district died in a serious traffic accident on the A 93 shortly before the border crossing to Kufstein on Wednesday morning.

The family's Tesla veered off the road to the right and crashed into trees for unknown reasons, police said.

Any help came too late for the 44-year-old father, who succumbed to his severe injuries in a hospital.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. near the Oberaudorf junction.

The vehicle was severely deformed as a result of the impact with the trees and the driver was trapped.

The 44-year-old father was freed from the car by the fire department and flown to a hospital in Munich with life-threatening injuries, where he unfortunately died.

The ten-year-old son was seriously but not fatally injured and also flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.

The mother and four-year-old son were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The vehicle was a total loss of around 50,000 euros.

Officials from the Rosenheim traffic police have started investigating how the accident happened.

An expert opinion was commissioned by the public prosecutor's office.

The Oberaudorf exit had to be closed while the accident was being recorded.

This caused traffic delays in this area.
