The police in Nuremberg are desperately looking for a 39-year-old woman who is heavily pregnant.

A crime is no longer excluded.

Divers are also used now.

Update from December 27, 4:03 p.m .:

For the time being, the search for the 39-year-old from Nuremberg is over.

Due to the falling darkness, the action on the Main-Danube Canal had to be stopped.

So far, no decisive clues about the whereabouts of the missing could be found.

It should continue on Wednesday.

The police had three divers and a sonar boat on duty.

The sonar device found eight objects under water in the first few hours.

These were searched by the divers, but no connections could be made to the missing person.

According to the information, the search was made more difficult because the underwater visibility for the divers was only half a meter.

At a water temperature of around four degrees Celsius, each diver can only stay in the water for around 90 minutes.

First report from December 27, 1:50 p.m.:

Nuremberg – Since December 9, there has been no trace of the heavily pregnant, 39-year-old Alexandra R. from Nuremberg.

The police turned to the public days ago and hoped for clues - so far without success.

Officials are no longer ruling out a crime.

Even divers, drones and cadaver dogs are now being used.

There has been no trace of the 39-year-old from Nuremberg since December 9th

At the beginning of December, the partner reported the 39-year-old missing.

She was last seen on the morning of December 9 in the Katzwang district of Nuremberg.

Just one day later, the Nuremberg criminal police took over the case, since an accident could not be ruled out.

The Nuremberg murder commission and the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office were also involved in the search.

The personal description of 39-year-old Alexandra R.

Approx. 165 cm tall, pregnant (8th month), brown eyes, half-length dark blonde hair, side parting, last wearing blue jeans, a half-length black winter jacket, a light-colored scarf, black sports shoes with white soles.

After the woman, who is eight months pregnant, did not turn up even days after the public manhunt, a special commission was set up with the police.

24 investigators are now on duty.

"There is no specific anchor point to even look at, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack," a spokesman said Dec. 18.

39-year-old from Nuremberg missing: evidence of a crime is increasing

However, there was increasing evidence that the disappearance could be the result of a violent crime.

It is striking that the 39-year-old left her ID, her baby pass and cash at home.

According to the police, this indicates that she had no intention of leaving her home for a long time.

Investigators also focused on a mint green Renault Twingo.

The police report goes on to say: "In this context, the special commission of the Nuremberg criminal police is currently examining whether a mint green Renault Twingo registered in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district (ERH) is connected to the disappearance of Alexandra R.."

The police write the following

Who saw the above Renault Twingo on December 9th, 2022 (Friday) between around 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the A9 between Nuremberg and Munich?

Who noticed the vehicle in the area between Nuremberg and Munich in the extended area around the A9 during the period mentioned?

(e.g. service areas, gas stations, side roads, forest roads, parking lots, etc.)

Who can possibly provide information on the occupancy of the vehicle?

Now that no further information has been received, the police have now decided to implement further measures.

On Tuesday, December 27, divers should now search the Main-Danube Canal in the Katzwang and Eibach section.

The search operation should last until dusk, a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

There are three divers and a boat in use.

The police spokeswoman confirmed that the water in the canal was being searched for objects from the area surrounding the missing person, but also for the woman herself.

If the search does not yield any other indications, the bank of the canal will be combed from Thursday, also with the help of cadaver dogs and drones.
