Lin Shixiong posted on the Facebook of the Transportation and Logistics Bureau, saying that the bureau received a notice from the Civil Aviation Administration of Japan yesterday, expressing its disappointment at the hasty decision made by the Japanese authorities during the peak tourist season. The staff of the consulate expressed strong concern and sternly demanded that the Japanese authorities withdraw the relevant decision.
Lin Shixiong said that after communicating with the Japanese authorities today (28th), the Bureau confirmed that after the implementation of the new regulations, flights of local airlines can still carry passengers back to Hong Kong from various airports in Japan, not limited to the above four airports.
At the same time, the Bureau has been in close communication with the affected local airlines regarding the incident, and has been informed that they will try their best to arrange for the affected passengers to return to Hong Kong from Japan.
