The new club Maibaumfreunde Ottenhofen has beaten the maypole for 2023.
Now the parlor program is being worked on.
Ottenhofen
– There are still around four months until a maypole will be put up again in Ottenhofen.
But the wood has already been beaten.
The new maypole is a proud 32 meters high and is probably 86 years old.
Recently, a group of eleven active members of the new Maibaumfreunde Ottenhofen association set out and, as Franziska Schreiner of the Maibaumfreunde reports, cut down the tree near Riedersheim near Bockhorn.
Of course, it has to stay put for now so that it dries up.
According to the plan, it should not be debarked until the beginning of February.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)
The Maibaumfreunde Ottenhofen would like to thank Christoph Blaser in particular for donating the tree.
He and his whole family must be very fond of the young club, because he also gave out a hearty snack and warm drinks for the hard-working helpers.
According to Franziska Schreiner, Georg Lippacher was the man behind the chainsaw, and he worked hard.
The tree initially got stuck at an angle between neighboring trees, says Schreiner.
A winch had to be used.
When the tree was finally there, a round of schnapps was due.
In the end, however, it was possible to bring the tree out of the forest with the help of a tractor, according to the club spokeswoman.
It couldn't be broken, so the expert eye of the foreman of the carpenter's guild was irreplaceable here, too.
A video distributed by the association on social media shows him doing a thorough visual inspection to see whether the tree is healthy.
Of course, Schreiner did not reveal where they have now taken their magnificent traditional sticks.
.
The "other preparations" would be in full swing, she told the local newspaper.
As reported, there should be a family day around the maypole, a mudflat tournament and a kettle meat meal in the Maibaumstüberl, which should also be enlarged for all these activities.
