The women's community knitted, baked and did handicrafts in order to support charitable causes with the proceeds.

A total of 4,000 euros were presented at the Christmas party (from left): Rosi Holzner, Gudrun Hoffmann (Sophienhospice), Michaela Brandlmeier, Rosi Holler and Steffi Irmscher-Grothen (Women's Home Erding).

The women's community donated a total of 4,000 euros to good causes as part of their Christmas party.

The stately sum was generated at the Advent market and at “Advent im Schloss”.

Taufkirchen

– Presents are usually part of a Christmas party.

How this tradition is handled by the Taufkirchen women's community left Gudrun Hoffmann from the Sophienhospice and Steffi Irmscher-Grothen from the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) speechless for a moment.

The Taufkirchen women donated 2,000 euros to the facility for terminal care that opened this year in Erding, and they gave another 2,000 euros to the director of the women's shelter.

Even the members of the Catholic association were surprised when cashier Michaela Brandlmeier presented them with punch and biscuits in the parish hall the figures they had earned for charity at the Advent market in the parish garden and at "Advent im Schloss".

“Especially the ladies at the stand with mulled wine, sausages and Kiache were so busy that it was such a pleasure.

When it came to self-knitted socks, however, it was noticed that buying behavior was changing.

All in all, I'm very satisfied," summarized Brandlmeier and also recalled the sale of herb bushes on Assumption Day: the latter financed the material costs for the Advent sales.

Women's shelter manager Irmscher-Grothen and the volunteer hospice attendant Hoffmann didn't just leave it at a moving thank you, but also explained to the women's community what their donation will be used for and invited them to visit the respective facilities.

The women's shelter receives five to six inquiries per week, with a capacity of only four family rooms and one single room, said Irmscher-Grothen.

Those who then make it into the care of the women's shelter often only come with a bag and nothing more and first have to be equipped with clothing, she added.

For this, but also for a self-defence course and therapeutic riding for the children, the 2000 euros are to be used.

Hoffmann outlined the history of the origins of the Sophienhospice, which opened in the spring.

Humanity is the guiding principle with which patients are received in a non-denominational manner in order to make their last journey easier with many amenities.

The sponsor, the MWS Hospice Foundation, is permanently dependent on donations.

A soft mattress is bought from the 2000 euros.
