According to the Germans, Markus Söder should have more influence in politics.

At least that's what more think about him than about any other politician in Germany.

Munich – The Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder has reason to celebrate during the Christmas season.

According to a new INSA survey, he is the most popular politician in Germany.

That reports the

.

39 percent of those surveyed say that the CSU leader should have “as much influence as possible in German politics” in 2023.

For Union voters it is even 70 percent.

Söder is followed by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock with 36 percent.

In contrast to the Bavarian Prime Minister, the former leader of the Greens was able to increase compared to the previous year: her value was four points above that of the previous year.

Söder, in turn, lost four points compared to last year.

Wert should have a lot of influence in German politics: Scholz crashes

Chancellor Olaf Scholz made it to third place in the survey with 36 percent.

Nevertheless, the SPD politician falls by a full 20 percentage points.

Scholz is followed by his traffic light ministers of different stripes, including Robert Habeck, Karl Lauterbach and Cem Özdemir.

However, none of them manages to get more than 35 percent approval in the survey.

Union leader Friedrich Merz is in eighth place.

He brings it to 32 percent and thus does not change compared to the previous year.

However, left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht is new on the list.

This should not least be due to their partly pro-Russian statements in connection with the Ukraine war.

New survey: FDP can easily win - Greens lose a point

Another survey by the opinion research institute INSA also shows how voting would take place if federal elections were held this weekend.

The Union remains the strongest force and keeps its 27 percentage points unchanged, as reported by the

The chancellor party SPD also remains unchanged with 21 percentage points.

Christian Lindner's FDP improved slightly with eight percent - one point more than in the previous week.

The Greens, in turn, lose a point and end up at 17 percent, three points ahead of the AfD.
