From the corporate environment, it is said behind closed doors that the manufacturer of lipsticks, lip care products and make-up pencils wants to withdraw the production division from the market community.

Peißenberg – The future of the "Weckerle Cosmetics" location in Peißenberg has been uncertain for a long time.

The company, which is part of the "Weckerle Companies", which also includes "Weckerle-Machines" in Weilheim and "Weckerle-Packaging" (packaging for cosmetics with headquarters in Switzerland), should actually start with both production and administration intercommunal commercial area to Achalaich between Polling and Weilheim.

However, the corona pandemic caused a dramatic financial slump in the cosmetics industry, which is why the plans had to be postponed (we reported).

Now there seems to be a new development.

From the corporate environment of "Weckerle-Cosmetics" it is said that there should be considerations to stop production in Peißenberg on March 31, 2023 and to relocate to a Weckerle location in Eislingen, Baden-Württemberg.

The production of the cosmetic mass has already been moved there.

It is rumored that discussions are currently taking place between the works council and management.

Has the move to Achalaich been shelved?

There is no information from the "Weckerle" management on this question - just as little as to a possible relocation of the "Cosmetics" production to Eislingen.

In any case, a request from the local newspaper remained unanswered.

Will it be relocated to Eislingen?

The plans for moving to Achalaich were actually well advanced.

"The hall plans had already been drawn up and even the furniture for the interior had already been selected," explained Elena Zhuravleva, then director of the company, in an interview with this newspaper about a year ago.

But then Corona came.

At the time, the 13,000 square meter property in Akhalaikh was, as Zhuravleva put it, “on hold”.

The deadline for confirming the land deal expired in September of this year.

It can be learned from the Pollinger town hall that Weckerle has not withdrawn from the purchase contract.

So there will be no reversion to the municipality, they are sticking to the property," confirms Mayor Martin Pape.

Lot not yet returned in Polling

For what purpose Weckerle actually wants to use the property in Achalaich in the event of a "Cosmetics" production relocation to Eislingen, one can only speculate.

According to the award criteria of the municipality of Polling (the relevant commercial property is on Pollinger Flur), construction must take place within the next five years.

However, the municipality has not yet received a planning application for the site.
