"Hartz and warm": Regina has lived in Blockmacherring for many years.
In her one-room apartment she looks back on the time with her children.
Why Regina lost her:
For Regina from the RTLZWEI social documentary "Hartz und Herzen" things are anything but successful.
The pensioner has barely gotten over the loss of her fiancé Norbert when she has to start worrying about new problems again.
Your apartment is in urgent need of renovation.
The kitchen in particular is getting on in years and needs to be replaced – however, it lacks the financial means to do so!
Regina cannot make big leaps with her small pension, as MANNHEIM24 reports.
"Hartz and warm" in Rostock: Regina had her first child at the age of 17
In her one-room apartment, Regina begins to ponder.
The trained lathe operator looks back on 68 years full of ups and downs.
At the age of 17, the "Hartz und cordial" protagonist became pregnant for the first time.
Shortly after the birth, Regina moved out with her parents into her first apartment of her own.
“Had sex for the first time and flew in straight away – I fell in right away,” reveals the Rostock resident about her first pregnancy.
The father of their first child was 35 at the time and Regina was 17 years old.
The relationship didn't last long: "It didn't go well for long.
It wasn't up to me.
That was probably too much for him.
I would have stayed with him - I would have loved to have had the other children with him," explains the pensioner in the social documentary.
"Hartz and warmly" - Regina escapes from the GDR - and has a child taken away
Born in Thuringia, she attempted to flee the GDR three times – with severe consequences!
"Then when I fled the GDR for the first time - then they took my child away from me without asking me," reveals Regina.
She made her first attempt to escape when she was 23 – two more followed.
Regina has served five prison terms for attempting to escape.
Her second child was also taken away from Rostock.
"It's precisely because I've become a fugitive," explains the pensioner in the social documentary.
She had her third child with a Cuban with whom she had been together for four years.
"But the fact that he had to go back to Cuba meant that it all fell apart," Regina continues.
"Hartz and heartily": "They took them away from me too" - Regina has to give up the third child
Because Regina was considered an enemy of the state, she was denied the ability to bring up her third child.
"They took them away from me back then," the pensioner recalls.
At that time, their daughter was only six months old.
After reunification, Regina tried in vain to find her children.
