"Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella" is one of the most popular Christmas classics.

Pavel Trávníček played the prince in the cult film.

50 years have passed since then – and the actor has changed a lot.

Konice – Although the snow that settled on the roofs in many parts of Germany just in time for Christmas Eve has melted again, the Christmas spirit still prevails.

In addition to gingerbread and mulled wine, the Christmas classics on television should not be missing during the staden time and a film that always brings the whole family together on the holidays is the German-Czech production "Three hazelnuts for Cinderella".

Christmas classic: Pavel Trávníček plays the prince in "Three Nuts for Cinderella".

During the festive season there is nothing better than a heartwarming fairy tale with a beautiful prince and a castle backdrop, and year after year the story of Cinderella and her magical hazelnuts, which grant her every wish, invites you to cheer.

Whether as a Disney version of "Cinderella" or as a remake on Amazon Prime - the fable of the young woman who lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters and falls in love with the beautiful heir to the throne is always great fun.

At the side of his film love Cinderella (Libuše Šafránková, †68), Pavel Trávníček (72) embodied the prince in the white fur coat outfit in the cult 1973 Christmas film and made the hearts of the audience beat faster with his romantic gestures.

He plays the role impressively well - even though it was his very first acting experience after studying music in Brno.

The special story of "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella"

The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm can hardly be surpassed in terms of romance and create a cozy atmosphere, especially at Christmas time.

The story of "Three Nuts for Cinderella" - in the original title "Tři oříšky pro Popelku" - is based on both the well-known narrative material and the Czech fable "O Popelce".

It slightly alters the work of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, in which Cinderella meets a fairy, and instead, as the name suggests, adds three magical hazelnuts to the plot.

50 years since "Three Nuts for Cinderella": Pavel Trávníček in the play for the film

After the sensational success of "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella", Pavel Trávníček remained in the world of fairytale films for quite a while and slipped into the mantle of a king's son for both the Grimm adaptation "Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot" and "The Third Prince".

While he was the voice of Alec Baldwin (64) and Jeff Goldblum (70), among other things, his heart always belonged to Cinderella and so he was on stage in the theater family show for the film in 2017 - but this time as a king.

Pavel Trávníček played the prince in "Three Nuts for Cinderella" almost 50 years ago.

In 2017 he was back on stage for a theatrical production of the cult film.

The love story of Cinderella and her beautiful prince and their dreamy happy ending are as much a part of the Christmas season as a festive dinner with the family, and Pavel Trávníček can certainly still look back on the film with tears after almost 50 years.

Unfortunately, the acting veteran had to be hospitalized a few days ago with breathing difficulties, but his three sons are at his side with active support during the festive season.

Another Christmas movie star has also changed a lot: Chevy Chase from "Lovely Christmas Eve" looks very different today.
