A senior official in the White House commented this evening (Thursday) on the swearing in of the new government, saying "Wala!
Because "we look forward to working with Israel to promote the interests and values that have been at the heart of our relationship for decades."
He also reiterated the commitment of the United States to Israel's security.
"We saw that Prime Minister Netanyahu repeatedly said that he is the one who will determine the government's policy," the official continued.
"We support a policy that promotes Israel's security and its integration in the region. We support a policy of a two-state solution and a policy of equal measures of security, prosperity and freedom for both Israelis and Palestinians."
He added, "As we have made clear, we do not support a policy that jeopardizes the chance of achieving a two-state solution or contradicts the shared interests and values of Israel and the United States."
In the meantime, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu informed the UN ambassador, Gilad Erdan, that he would extend his term of office for another year. Netanyahu spoke with Erdan and praised his professional and vigorous activity to defend Israel in the international arena. Erdan thanked the Prime Minister for trusting him and said that he will continue to act as much as possible. His ability to strengthen Israel's position in the UN.
