Every year there is an action of the city church for mentally ill people.
The parish of Maria Hilf gives gifts to residents of the Sankt Ursula home.
Geretsried – For 15 years now, the Maria Hilf parish of the Geretsried town church has been supporting the Saint Ursula Home for mentally ill people in Geretsried with the “Christmas for All” campaign.
"The approximately 200 residents, who have often lost all contact with relatives and friends due to their illness, should find small gifts under the Christmas tree just like everyone else on Christmas Eve," says Roland Rundet from the parish.
As a former employee of BYK-Gardner GmbH, he organizes the campaign together with his wife Gabriele.

From the beginning, many employees of this local company also participated.
Every year in late autumn, the organizers receive a list of the individual wishes of the residents from the St. Ursula home management.
These can be care products, inexpensive jewelry and watches or vouchers for the surrounding shops.
The value of a gift is around 15 euros.
The BYK-Gardner employees then select one or more wishes from the list, obtain the appropriate item and pack it with a few extras such as gingerbread or sweets.

Thecirculating couple brings the lovingly designed gifts together with the parcels from the parish to the long-term facility in good time before Christmas Eve.
There, the residents are allowed to unpack them at the internal Christmas celebrations at their respective wards.
“Every year the employees at St. Ursula tell how happy the residents were about the packages.
They will be a topic of conversation for many weeks,” reports Roland Rundet.
